DESCRIPTION:The Annual Mariposa Butterfly Festival will be held the first Weekend in May beginning Saturday with a lively parade on Main Street in Downtown Mariposa where highways 140 and 49 meet. After the parade\, drive or take the free bus to the Mariposa County Fairgrounds where you will be treated tp a Classic Car and Truck show\, Jurassic Mariposa ( with giant Dinosaurs and tarantulas) Habitat row \, Artisans showing off their latest creations\, Skydiving\, acrobatics\, live music and great food. Oh I forgot\, And then there are the thousands of butterflies you get to know. From Fresno\, take 41 to Oakhurst\, Turn onto to 49 and drive 26v miles till you reach Mariposa. Fairgrounds will be on the right. Downtown is just 4 miles more down the road. From Merced\, take 140 to Mariposa. Parade is right there. Or turn right onto 49 and the Fairgrounds will be 4 miles down on the left. Tickets are $5 for 12 and older. You can buy tickets online at Mariposabutterflyfestival.net
