Opening this program, which spans over 200 years of music, is a premiere by Festival clarinetist Michael Fine. Next isFrançaix’s charming octet, a distinctively French piece that was inspired by Schubert’s octet for the same instruments.Beethoven's fourth string quartet follows, which features a Hungarian-style finale. Concluding the program is Turina’spiano quintet, a work that exhibits influences ranging from Gregorian chant to flamenco.
