New Statewide & County Restrictions

Now, more than ever, we need to be knowledgeable on and abide by health and safety guidelines. We are living in unprecedented, challenging times. We hold the power to keep our community and economy healthy and safe. Start today, do your part.
 
 
Effective July 13, 2020, ALL counties must close indoor operations in these sectors:

  • Dine-in restaurants
  • Wineries and tasting rooms
  • Movie theaters 
  • Family entertainment centers (for example: bowling alleys, miniature golf, batting cages and arcades)
  • Zoos and museums
  • Cardrooms
Additionally, bars, brewpubs, breweries, and pubs must close all operations both indoor and outdoor statewide. Learn more ( covid19.ca.gov )
 
 
San Luis Obispo County was added to the State's County Monitoring list today, July 13th. The State's watch list names counties that exceed certain thresholds for COVID-19 cases. Watch full update from Gov. Newsom here. Following three consecutive days on  this list , the following will be required to shut down - anticipated date is July 16th - unless they can be modified to operate outside or by pick-up.
  • Fitness centers
  • Worship services
  • Protests
  • Offices for non-essential sectors
  • Personal care services, like nail salons, body waxing and tattoo parlors
  • Hair salons and barbershops
  • Malls

What can you do now to adjust to this new information and keep your doors open? Stay informed on weekly briefings from our County and State, adhere to the CDC guidelines and think of creative ways to accommodate state mandates and maintain commerce. With information and guidelines changing daily, it’s important for your business to be flexible and even more important to be prepared. Now is the perfect time to check in on your health and safety measures, ensure that your employees know about your procedures, and create a contingency plan. Some ideas:
  • Draw up a site plan sketch of outdoor space that you could occupy for sales or services.
  • If you are in the restaurant sector, promote outdoor dining. 
  • Use PasoStrong Open and Safe/Face Covering Signage.
  • Print and post open and safe messaging that includes face covering messaging from the city.
If you did not initially apply or receive a SBA loan, re-consider these options:
  • Paycheck Protection Program
  • Deadline has been extended to August 8, 2020. Loan details and forgiveness have changed (24 week period after recieving the loan). Application revised June 6th, 2020. 
  • Economic Injury Distaster Loan
  • SBA resumed accepting new EIDL applications on June 15th to all qualified small businesses. 
  • Express Bridge Loan
  • If you have an existing relationship with the SBA and need to bridge the gap while applying for a direct EIDL loan, consider an Express Bridge Loan. Access up to $25,000 quickly to help overcome temporary loss of revenue. Will be repaid in full or in part by proceeds from the EIDL loan. More information here
  • Self-Employed Assistance
  • If you did not apply for unemployment assistance, re-consider applying for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance
