Paso Robles City Library to Kick Off Largest Summer Reading Program Yet with June 15 Launch Party

The Paso Robles City Library is changing the way we do summer! There is a ton of all *new and exciting* summer programs for kids, teens and adults.
Adventure Begins at the Paso Robles City Library! Here are all the details to make Summer 2024  the best ever:

Summer Reading Launch Party

The Paso Robles City Library will kick off their biggest summer reading program to date with a Summer Reading Launch Party in Downtown City Park on June 15 from 1-3 PM. Attendees will be able to register for the 2024 Summer Reading Program as well as enjoy snacks, activities, and games.

Summer Reading Program Registration

Registration for the 2024 program, themed “Adventure Begins at the Paso Robles City Library,” will be open from June 10 to August 10. In addition to reading rewards, the Library will also host performers, activities, crafts, swimming, and free lunch all summer long at multiple locations around Paso Robles.

Summer Reading Challenge

Patrons can register for the Summer Reading Program at the Paso Robles City Library starting June 10 and receive a summer reading passport. To earn a prize, participants must read 10 hours and track their progress in the passport’s reading log. Additionally, for each 10 hours read, participants will earn a ticket to enter our grand prize drawing to win a $400 gift certificate to Margarita Adventures!

Lunch at the Library

The Paso Robles City Library is excited to offer free Lunch at the Library for all ages! Lunch will be available on Mondays at Oak Park (901 30th Street) from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Wednesdays at the Paso Robles City Library from 11 AM to 12 PM, and Fridays at Centennial Park from 12 PM to 1 PM . No registration or proof of income is required. Everyone is welcome, but lunch will be served on a first-come, first-served basis. Meals will be available from June 17 to August 9. Children and Teen Activities

Every Monday, the Library is hosting a teen cooking program, free lunch, youth activity, and mobile library stop at Oak Park (901 30th Street). On Wednesdays, the Library will have guest performers at both Oak Park and the City Library, as well as free lunch at the Paso Robles City Library. And on Fridays, the Paso Robles City Library is hosting free lunch, swimming, youth activities, and a mobile library stop at Centennial Park (600 Nickerson Drive).

  • Tie-Dye Party, Oak Park Community Center, July 13 at 11 AM
  • Summer Reading Finale Party, Centennial Pool, August 9 at 2 PM.

Adult Classes and Events

Adults can book the trip of a lifetime at the Library this summer by signing up for special travel-themed classes and events from June through August, including a travel talk on adventures in the American Southwest, an author visit from New York Times bestselling author Teresa Rhyne, a dog adoption event, and much more! The Library’s popular craft meetups will continue with fun monthly projects from around the world. Don’t forget to join the Adult Book Group for three great travel reads: Airplane Mode: An Irreverent History of Travel by Shahnaz Habib, Bicycling with Butterflies: My 10,201-Mile Journey Following the Monarch Migration by Sara Dykman, and North Woods by Daniel Mason.
