SLO County Now Moved into Red Tier 2

We are excited to share with you that the County of San Luis Obispo has moved into the Tier 2 (Red), meaning that our county can move further into re-opening effective immediately.

The Governor moved the county into the Red Tier on September 22nd. This stage allows multiple sectors to open indoor operations with modifications. These include restaurants, gyms including hotel fitness centers and places of worship.

It is important to remember that if our county's metrics worsen for two consecutive weeks, we will go back to the Tier 1 (Purple). Our community must continue to follow the recommendations of the California Department of Public Health into this next phase to ensure we continue this forward momentum.

Let's Move Paso Forward

  • A county must have been in the current tier for a minimum of three weeks.
  • A county must meet criteria for the next less restrictive tier for both measures for the prior two consecutive weeks in order to progress to the next tier.
  • In addition, the state will establish health equity measures that demonstrate a county's ability to address the most impacted communities within a county.
