Dear Friends,
Its time for our 15th annual Up With Kids – Back To School Shopping Spree. We are sending this message to you because you were a valued volunteer in previous years and we need your help again to effectively move another 100+ kids through Target in the allowed time of 2 hours. This requires a ton of coordination and the help of approximately 200 volunteers.
Last year your assistance was an invaluable contribution which helped us have a very successful event and 128 kids got off on the right foot when returning to school with new clothes, shoes, backpacks and school supplies. The event will be Saturday morning, 6:00am on August 6 at the Target store on Theatre Dr, Paso Robles. We will need our volunteers to report a little earlier and we should be wrapping up between 8 & 8:30 am.
In addition, we are collecting canned and dry goods to further assist the families. We are also asking for cash contributions that will go toward buying school supplies.
This year marks the first time we've been able to offer scholarships to graduating high school students who have successfully completed an Up With Kids application process. The scholarships will be presented to the recipients at their graduation ceremony. We hope to make the scholarship program an ongoing annual event.
If you wish to contribute, make checks payable to Up With Kids (a benefit account at Wells Fargo Bank) and mail to RE/MAX Parkside Real Estate, 711 12th Street, Paso Robles, CA 93446. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
