Women in Business October 2026

Our Women in Business Luncheon is a space intentionally created for connection, growth, and real conversation. Designed for women across all industries and stages of their careers, this program brings together leaders, entrepreneurs, and rising professionals to share insights, exchange ideas, and build meaningful relationships that extend far beyond the room.

At its core, the purpose of Women in Business is to foster a strong, supportive network where women feel seen, heard, and empowered. Each luncheon features inspiring speakers, relevant topics, and opportunities for authentic connection, because we believe that when women come together with purpose, incredible things happen.

From practical business insights and leadership strategies to the confidence that comes from being in a room full of like-minded women, attendees leave feeling energized, inspired, and better equipped to grow personally and professionally.

Jessica McGinnis | Senior Account Executive - Waste Management- 
Jessica McGinnis, Senior Account Executive on the Public Sector team at WM, where she partners with municipalities and public agencies to develop strategic solutions that address complex operational challenges. With a strong commitment to customer service, community engagement, and long-term value creation, she collaborates closely with governing entities to align innovative services with their organizational priorities and community objectives. Jessica is recognized for her collaborative approach, ability to cultivate trusted partnerships, and dedication to delivering sustainable outcomes that enhance the communities WM serves.

Nicole Flores-Yerena - 
Nicole holds a Bachelor of Science in Earth Sciences from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Nicole has been with Science Discovery since 2023 and currently serves as the Lead Regulatory Compliance Coordinator. Nicole has worked with over 1,500 generators across San Luis Obispo County, contributing to an over 15% increase in compliance for SB 1383, California's organics law. Her goal when working with commercial and multi-family generators is to evaluate and validate their concerns and then implement a plan of action that best suits their individual needs.

Danika Embry | Director of Operations - All Dry Services-
Danika will be speaking about the importance of having a knowledgeable and certified water, mold, and fire mitigation company in your back pocket. How they provide emergency services and how they can be of help this upcoming wet season with the suspected El Nino.

Marina Bernheimer | Executive Director - CASA SLOC- 
Marina will be presenting about CASA’s work and our impact in the lives of local children and youth in foster care. She’ll also share about the organization’s current needs and ways our community can support us and get more involved in our mission to serve our county’s kids who need it most.
CASA of San Luis Obispo County’s mission is to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children within the court system. CASA recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who advocate for this vulnerable population with the goal of ensuring that each and every child grows up in a safe, nurturing, and permanent home.
