Wine Harvest Intern

United Staffing Associates is partnering with a local wine cellar to hire a Wine Harvest Intern for the upcoming harvest season. This role supports daily cellar operations at a custom crush winery, providing hands-on experience from crush through barreling. The position focuses on executing a wide range of cellar tasks while maintaining strict adherence to safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
 
Key Responsibilities                       
 

  • Assist with fruit receiving, including unloading and processing incoming grapes
  • Perform hand sorting and operate destemming equipment
  • Support tank fermentation processes, including pump-overs and monitoring
  • Conduct small-lot punch-down fermentations
  • Assist with press operations during active fermentation periods
  • Perform routine barrel maintenance, cleaning, and sanitation
  • Operate a forklift safely to move fruit bins, equipment, and materials
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow all winery safety protocols and quality standards
 
Qualifications
 
  • Interest in winemaking, viticulture, or a related field
  • Previous winery, cellar, or agricultural experience preferred
  • Forklift experience or certification is a plus
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work for extended periods
  • Willingness to work long hours, including weekends, during harvest
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
 
Schedule:
Up to 6 days per week, with shifts starting as early as 6:00 AM. Weekends and overtime may be required based on business needs.
 
Pay:
$17/hr
