Full-Charge Bookkeeper
A well-established construction company in the Paso Robles area is seeking an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to independently manage the financial accounting function. This position requires a highly skilled and self-directed professional who can take full ownership of the company's day-to-day and month-end financial processes.
You’ll work on-site in a casual office environment with a small team of colleagues and have the flexibility to create your own schedule during standard business hours (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM). Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage the full chart of accounts and general ledger, including journal entries and adjusting entries
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and internal reports
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and balance sheet accounts
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely billing and collections
- Generate job cost reports and monitor profitability across projects
- File and remit quarterly sales tax reports and payments
- Implement and maintain accounting procedures and internal controls
- As needed, provide back-up to payroll processor
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a full-charge bookkeeper or an equivalent accounting role
- Excellent understanding of general accounting principles required; construction-related accounting experience preferred
- Advanced user of QuickBooks and common office software such as Microsoft Office
- Experience preparing complete financial reports, including P&L and balance sheet
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Clear communication skills for working with vendors, clients, and team members
Pay Rate:
$30 - $40/hour depending upon relevant skills and experience
